Caribbean Regulators Forum and Gaming Show

The Hon. Chester Cooper told attendees, “I am confident that we can achieve growth by differentiating our product and forming quality partnerships to build the market. As we expand our offerings what must also be at the forefront of regulation is the need to protect reputations of regions, our region in particular, with regard to gaming.”

Cooper went further stating, “key challenges in our current regime will have to be addressed. This process is crucial for providing patron protection, adhering to international best practice and giving both land based and domestic gaming operators the legislative framework they need to support growth and sustainability.”

The Acting Prime Minister also outlined several possible changes to gaming legislation saying “ultimately there will be consultation with the general public on these issues. None of these issues are before the Cabinet at the moment. When they get there we’ll make some decisions and pronouncements on them. Sufficed to say its important for us to continue broad based consultation as is our practice.”
